Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) was founded in 1977 and is a national voluntary health organization based in Washington DC with a network of chapters, offices and support groups located in communities throughout the United States. The foundation is devoted to solving the mystery of lupus and its mission is to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support and advocacy.  

The work done by the LFA is important to me, and for communities around the state. My connection is that I am fighting the disease and raising much needed funds for research with the hopes of finding a cure.
