Leaving Lupus in the Dust

Welcome to our fundraising team page.

We are Walking to End Lupus NOW!  Although my work obligations will keep me away from the actual walk this year, my family and friends will be walking in my honor - will you join or support them?

When: Sunday October 20th, 2019

Where: Calf Pasture Beach, Norwalk CT

Imagine a day when doctors can say, “There is a cure for lupus.” Until that day though, there is work to be done. That’s why I’m taking action in the fight against lupus. Join me, my family and friends as we participate in Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk to End Lupus Now® to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States.

In 2016 I received the diagnosis I thought I had been prepared to hear, yet was surprised when it came, "you have Lupus Nephritis". Immediately I had answers and explanations of all the lupus related symptoms I'd experienced for over a decade: aches and pains, inexplicable fatigue, 3 miscarriages, torturous itchy skin, severe sensitivity to sunlight and heat etc etc. And while I finally had an answer, I was instantly overwhelmed with a thousand more questions.

For well over two years now, after receiving different treatments and therapies to treat the symptoms properly, I have shifted to a homeopathic approach as the traditional treatments have not helped me (each lupus patient being different and all). Although I've been on a roller coaster, and one kidney down, I've found a renewed inner strength and have been overwhelmed by the support by my loved ones, to keep PUSHING THROUGH.

This is my purpose, to push through for my kids, my husband, my family and friends and for ME! Please join me in the push, and help me Leave Lupus in the Dust!
