2018 Walk to End Lupus Now, CT-Norwalk

The Rosebuds

My name is Rose and in March 2018 I was diagnosed with Lupus. At that time, I wasn’t fully aware of what that meant as I didn’t personally know anyone with Lupus. I wasn’t feeling well and went to the doctor and thought to myself it must be the flu. I could barely lift my head off my pillow, had a fever, a weird rash on my face, chest pains and the worse headache I’d ever had in my life not to mention absolutely no energy! As you can imagine, it was a shock to me that I had been diagnosed with Lupus. Since my diagnosis I’ve been on a variety of medications, and I am hopeful that the newest medication I was prescribed can help me. I have a few good days here and there where I try to get done as much as possible because on my bad days, I’m lucky if I have the energy to get out of bed. I used to be very active, walking 5 miles a day and now it’s a struggle just to take a shower. I am the mother of 3 boys and anyone who has children knows that they are alot of work and lying in bed all day is just not an option! My husband and children do all they can to help and their love and support makes me want to fight harder and get better! I know that it is going to be a long, hard journey and sometimes it makes me very sad and I often ask myself …why me? There are days I feel like I’m never going to get better, but I try to stay positive as I am a strong person and I won’t ever give up!

Please join me in the fight against Lupus by either donating (no donation is too small) or by walking with us on October 14th! Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated! I ask that you please share this page with other friends and family members. Thank you for the bottom of my heart!
