Miracle Mob

Welcome to our Miracle Mob fundraising page.

It took 11 years to get a diagnosis. Eleven years of multiple doctors dismissing my random symptoms. I was 32 years old when an ER physician suggested I might want to see a Rheumatologist. I had spent all of my 20's in pain, exhausted and frustrated. I had never even heard the word "lupus" and although I finally had a name for my illness, I had no idea what the future held for me, my husband and our two baby boys.

Over the years I have spent countless nights in the hospital, have been bedridden for months at a time and have had to have multiple home health visits. There have been times that breathing was excrutiating and times when my body was so weak, I couldn't even stand to take a shower. I have spent so many years on the sidelines of my life- not thriving and barely surviving.

I walk to bring awareness to others of what lupus is and how it can affect someone you love. I walk so that my 3 teenagers can see their mom fight back for her health. I walk so that others can have hope. I walk to prove that despite a lupus diagnosis ,you can still live a life full of joy. As of today, the disease activity in my body is controlled. I feel vibrant and healthy, but that doesn't mean that every day is an easy one. I constantly have to battle the balance of life - managing stress, nutrition, exercise and making sure I'm giving my body the things it needs to function at its best. One of the biggest things that lupus has taught me is to be grateful in the smallest of moments, even in the midst of a bad day. It makes you appreciate the good days even more. I am walking to show the world that I'm a warrior and that they can be a warrior too. No one should have to feel alone with lupus.

Imagine a day when doctors can say, "There is a cure for lupus". Until that day though, there is work to be done. That's why we are taking action in the fight against lupus. Join us as we participate in the Lupus Foundation of America's Walk to End Lupus Now
® to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States.

Will you join our team and help us reach our fundraising goal? You’ll be supporting the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus. You can also support by making a secure contribution on our walk page. Every single dollar counts!

  • Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
  • While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
