2022 Walk to End Lupus Now, Norwalk

The Chronic Pains

Welcome to the CHRONIC PAINS' fundraising team page.

Imagine a day when doctors can say, "There is a cure for lupus". Until that day though, there is work to be done. That's why we are taking action in the fight against lupus. Join us as we participate in the Lupus Foundation of America's Walk to End Lupus Now® to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States.

MY JOURNEY started over a decade ago where I began to experience symptoms in a relatively small way.  I pushed myself through pain and fatigue on a constant basis, assuming that it was just the typical lack of work/mommy/life balance that so many share.

I kept going like that for at least 5 years until my body put a definitive stop to my "normal" and forced me to take notice and give in.  I've lost my right kidney, my gallbladder, and the life I once knew.  I've since been diagnosed, not only with Lupus Nephritis, but with Fibromyalgia, Lyme, CKD GFR Stage V, Osteosarcoma, Intestinal adhesions, Depression, Anxiety and so much more.

I have lived well past the November 2020 prognosis I had been given by 4 different and independent health systems.  Much to the confusion and mystification of friends, family, and my team of incredible doctors and specialists.

I am still here for my two amazing boys, Maxton (10) and Avery (8).  There is no other explanation for why I'm here but that I'm simply not done being their mom.  I still have work to do.

I WALK FOR MAXTON, AVERY AND FOR ANYONE SUFFERING WITH THE INVISIBLE ILLNESSES THAT SO MANY SIMPLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND.

Will you join my team and help us reach our fundraising goal? You’ll be supporting the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus. You can also support by making a secure contribution on our walk page. Every single dollar counts!

Did you know?

  • Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
  • Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
  • While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.

Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Join our team today and support our efforts!

Be grateful, be kind, live your life out loud, and love always <3
