2020 Walk to End Lupus Now National Team

S.C.L.E Fighters

Welcome to our fundraising team page.

I'm Catherine Threats and my goal is to raise $1,000.00 to help bring awareness to Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) this is form of Lupus I have!

I walked to give hope, to inspire, to make a change and to find a cure! The funds raised in the walk will provide educational programs, advocacy and awareness.
Lupus has touched me and my family.

In 2013 I became sick and these lesions develop all over my body. I went from doctor to doctor. I had to wear long sleeve shirts in the summer to cover the lesions and heavy make-up on my face. Finally a year later after being missed diagnosed, and on the wrong medication I went to the ER… an a ER doctor said I believe you have Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE)!

I thought to myself; what? What is that? Why have I never heard of this before? I was referred to a Dermatology group that confirmed I have Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE). I want to end the run around. I want to help someone to never have to go through what I did for over a year. Every single dollar counts!

Did you know?

  • Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
  • Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
  • While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
  • Only one drug has ever been developed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration specifically to treat the disease.

Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Join our team today and support our efforts!
