Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can attack many parts of the body and entails several symptoms that range from visible to invisible. It takes an average of ~6 years for Lupus patients to receive a diagnosis after starting to experience their Lupus symptoms. 

After years of confusion, frustration, and coming up blank, my Lupus diagnosis helped me to finally feel some peace of mind. Since I have better understood Lupus as it inflicts me personally, I have been able to regain control of my life and work towards establishing feelings of normalcy and routine for the first time in a very, very long while.
