Hola Friends and Family! We are back for 2024 and ready to Walk for a cure! Ya‘ll really showed out and showed up for last year’s fundraiser. Give yourselves a big round of applause. It really meant a lot to me that so many of you donated, walked, shared, liked, asked questions, and spread awareness about Lupus. Let’s work together to bring that same energy this year!
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that does a number on the body. It earns the nicknames “the great imitator“ and “the disease of 1000 faces” due to its complexity and wide range of symptoms. Did you know it takes an average of 7 years to diagnose Lupus patients, because it is often mistaken for other ailments? That’s a mighty long time from the onset of illness to receive proper care and treatment. Doctors are still learning about Lupus and how to best administer care to each patient. Take it from me, a fellow Lupus Warrior. This is one of the many reasons I walk. AWARENESS. Stick with me and I’ll continue to share more reasons and Lupus facts through out the year.
I am joining thousands of people across the country for the Walk to End Lupus Now! This year team Blue Orchids will walk in Miami October 19, 2024. We hope you‘ll join us if you’re in the area. You can also support by virtually walking, donating, and sharing our message. See below for more important dates to look out for this year!
You can make a difference by donating to help me reach my personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus! A generous contribution of $10, $25 or $50 can make a definite impact. Trust me, it's worth the effort! Every single dollar counts.
