Brock and I will be walking in the Walk to end Lupus event in Nashville on September 9 this year.
I have set a goal to help raise $250 in support of research studies aiming to find a cure for lupus.
My lupus journey began in the 9th grade when I went to get a hair cut and the hair dresser found a bald spot in the back of my head. After rheumatologist tests I was told I had Positive ANA which was aided in the diagnosis of Lupus and alopecia. Since then my symptoms of lupus have varied and progressively gotten worse. I have suffered hair loss, scalp sores, joint pains, headaches and migraines, muscle aches, heart rate changes and palpitations, rashes, nerve problems, gallbladder removal and infection, thyroid problem, GI problems… and lots of emotional suffering. I am now in the process of finding a doctor here in Tennessee to begin my treatments and hopefully ease some of my problems. The support of my family and friends has been the most help over the years. I would not be where I am now without my biggest support system, My dad and Brock and my sisters.
If possible to donate, every dollar helps to aid research for a cure. Or if you could simply wear Purple on September 9th and send a picture or post a picture in support of me as I walk I greatly appreciate it.
