I am joining thousands of people across the country for the Walk to End Lupus Now®. The cause is really important to me because I was diagnosed with lupus last year. I hope that you will join me either by lacing up your Jordans or by donating to my fundraising page.
Lupus is a tricky disease that affects a lot of people, including kids like me. It can make us feel really sick sometimes, but I want to show everyone that we can still be strong and make a difference. By participating in this walk, I want to raise awareness about lupus and help support research and programs that make life better for people like me.
I would be so grateful if you could support my efforts by making a donation on this fundraising page. Even a small donation can make a big impact! Your generosity will help fund research for better treatments, support services, and raise awareness about this disease.
Thank you for being awesome! Let's show lupus that we're not giving up without a fight!
P.S. -- Big shout out to my big brother Sean who is our Team Captain.
Did you know?
Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
In children, lupus most commonly affects the skin, joints, and major internal organs - like the kidneys, liver, brain, heart and lungs. Lupus tends to be more aggressive and severe in children than in adults. People diagnosed in childhood also are more likely to have higher rates of organ damage than people diagnosed as adults.
While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
Lupus is hard to diagnose, but the Lupus Foundation of America is working to make life easier and more comfortable for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States. Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity!
