I'm joining my sister's team, back in DC on Oct 1st, for The Walk to End Lupus Now!
Rachel had a long road to diagnosis of why she was in chronic pain and dangerous organ malfunction. But she took a chance on a clinical trial almost 15 years ago that literally changed her life... aside from contributing to the science that became her approved medication, it also guided her to living in Singapore (one of the very few places it was being administered), and the team there helped her manage her health to be able to get pregnant with my sweet-faced sassy niece!
Did you know?
- Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
- Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
- While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women, and women of color are at especially high risk.
Let's do this!
I'd love to blow away this $1,000 goal to contribute to her overall team fundraising. If you're able, please make a donation you're comfortable with, and don't forget to ask if your company has a matching program! Every little bit helps...
Thanks so much for helping me support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus!
