I’m Walking to End Lupus... Would you Join Me?
Imagine a day when doctors can say, “There is a cure for lupus.” Until that day though, there is work to be done. That’s why I’m taking action in the fight against lupus. Join me as I participate in Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk to End Lupus Now® to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States.
Will you make a donation to help me reach my personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus?
The Lupus foundation of america has given us and a lot more people a new hope in finding a cure for Lupus, so Yes....Every single dollar counts and You can make the difference today!
Let me share a little bit about my Mom’s story. First of all Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease, meaning your immune system attacks it’s own tissues and organs and can damage any part of the body (skin, joints and/or organs, etc.) Unfortunately there’s still No cure.
Since 2007 I've seen my Mom Lorena, fight this disease day by day after suffering a stroke at just 33 years of age. She takes many pills a day that suppress her immune system causing her to stay in bed all day, She’s been to so many doctors, specialists, infusion treatments, multiple hospitalizations and many appointments in a week for the last 12 years; Everything you can think of she’s been through it all.Lupus is considered one of the "invisible illness", so you never really know when you’ll flare up or when your flare up will end, it could be days weeks or months of feeling terribly sick. If you saw my mom around you would never think she has Lupus, she’s one of the few people that doesn’t look ill, but trust me inside shes feeling it all.My mom had to limit herself and arranged a new way of living to not overwork her body and be ok. I’ve seen her struggle with depression and there was a time when she lost interest in life and felt hopeless, but little did she know that this was only gonna turn her into a stronger woman.
I deeply appreciate and admire her strength to fight back this misterious disease, and at the same time be there for her family regardless of how bad she feels. I could not be more grateful to God for my Mother’s life and giving us a second chance to have her here today. She’s a living example of true warrior!...Mom , Thank you for never giving up on us and to continue to fight ever day. We love you & We are here to support you, to listen, take care of you and Fight together! I hope one day I can be as amazing as you are. You are MY real life superhero
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus.
From the bottom of my heart, a big thank you for your generosity!
