I’m Walking to End Lupus. Join Me?
A little about me!
Most of you who know me personally know my love for traveling! I did a solo road trip across America and a few places out of the country, travel with friends and family, love theme parks, and have lived quite a few places! Recently that all came to a bit of a halt, as I had to leave my home in Florida to come back to Oregon when I knew that something was wrong. I relocated back to Oregon to be closer to family and better healthcare.
I was diagnosed with lupus this year (2019). The diagnoses came quickly, and I have been fighting since. Living a life with chronic pain and illness isn’t exactly what I thought I’d be doing with my life at 25, but I have always said live everyday to the fullest as you never know what can happen next.
I am lucky to have an excellent team of doctors who do what they can to slow the progression of my lupus. With their help, I can try to live the most normal life I can!
Prior to my diagnoses I knew absolutely nothing about lupus! I now feel like a lupus dictionary to the close friends and family who have been supporting me since my diagnoses. I now know so much, and you can too! I have a voice, and intend to help spread awareness and hopefully we will have a cure one day!
Until then, will you walk with me on my team? We can bring awareness and support to those who fight and those who are there with us every step of the way! You can also donate to the cause if you wish to do so! I appreciate all the support and love!
Did you know?
- Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
- Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
- While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
- Only one drug has ever been developed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration specifically to treat the disease.
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity!
