I’m Walking to End Lupus. Why?
I know for some of you this may come as a surprise but the past few weeks have been a whirl wind for our family. A few weeks ago my beautiful daughter Marley was diagnosed with Lupus. She is now doing well on her new meds but we know this will be a long journey of ups and downs.
This is very last minute but Bruce and I found out about this fundraising walk happening this weekend and we are determined to help raise funds as our family walks. We know this is now the first few steps in our long walk in this journey to fight for a cure. Please join us by contributing what you can and keeping Marley in your thoughts and prayers.
Did you know?
- Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
- Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
- While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
- Only one drug has ever been developed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration specifically to treat the disease.
Please help Marley raise funds to help solve the cruel mystery of lupus.
Thank you for your generosity!
