Marley's marchers are walking again to End Lupus. Why?
As most of you already know my beautiful daughter Marley was diagnosed with Lupus about a year ago. She is doing well on her meds with good days and bad days but we know this will be a long journey of ups and downs for the rest of our lives. It's especially important to us to raise funds because there are many gaps in the scientific research for pediatric Lupus. These funds can improve future screening and treatment recommendations to help prevent potentially life threatening and serious complications from Lupus that too many children with Lupus suffer.
So, it's that time of year again!
Marley, Bruce and I will be walking on Sunday October 20th at Calf Pasture beach in Norwalk to help raise funds. We know this is now our new annual THING, taking a few steps in our long walk in this journey to fight for a cure.
Please join us by contributing what you can. Every dollar makes a difference in supporting research that helps families like ours.
Did you know?
- Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
- Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys and even the brain.
- While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
Lupus is such a complex disease that effects each person differently. That's why every bit of research learning how it impacts everyone especially children, is so important for their future.
Please help Marley's Marchers raise funds to help solve the cruel mystery of lupus and keep her in your prayers.
Thank you for your generosity!
