Its been a little over a year since my mom was diagnosed with Lupus. It’s a chronic and complex autoimmune disease. Lupus affects the joints, skin, brain, heart, kidneys and blood vessels causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage to the affected organ. Millions of Americans, mostly woman, have lupus, and to my mom she considers it “a silent killer.” There is no cure for lupus. It is a day to day struggle.
Mom takes medications everyday. She gets nauseous often and throws up, with constant stomach pains. There are sores in her mouth and nose. Mornings are especially hard for her because she's always in pain. She carries nitroglycerine, for inflammation on my heart. Her moods are crazy. & on top of that she has insomnia, depression, and major anxiety. She even gets infusions every other week through IV, which is hard for her because she HATES needles.
My mom is a warrior. & will continue to be just that.
With this being said, mom and our family will be doing a LUPUS WALK in Seattle on September 21. So please donate to our “TEAM” for a good cause. $1, $2, $100 whatever you can.
Thank you advance.
Love TEAM ALOHA.
