I'm Walking to End Lupus. Join Me?
A little over five years ago, I was diagnosed with Lupus. I didn’t even know what Lupus was. Needless to say my life has changed dramatically since April 2017. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that not only affects your joints, but also attacks your organs.
People say to me all the time “ you don’t look sick” and I usually respond with “yes, on the outside, but my insides are at a constant battle “. The sun is no longer my friend, gluten is no longer my friend and I am taking 3-4 pills a day to try and prevent a flare up.
I’m constantly in pain, my joints hurt so bad that some days getting out of bed or going up and down the stairs is a chore.
Although, my days are tough, I am very blessed to have such a great support system. My family and friends get me through the rough days and I couldn’t fight this fight without them and their unconditional love and patience.
“I’m not going down without a fight”
