I am happy to walk to raise money and awareness to end Lupus! My cousin Steven Deibler suffered for lupus for most of his life. It was a long and hard journey for him. He was a amazing person inside and out. He would smile through his eyes and you couldn't help but smile too. He has such a huge part of my heart and I love him deeply. He was such a strong fighter and I owe it to him and others to support this cause. I know that there will be a cure someday and I can't wait to see it. Steven would be proud to walk with us and I know he'll be there with us in spirit. Walk with us if you can or donate if you're able, anything helps.
I have another cousin currently living with lupus and all of the side effects that come along with it. I will also be walking for her. Annalisa Buzan, I pray that you will feel better soon. You're so strong and I have faith that you will overcome.
Did you know?
- Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
- Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
- While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
- Only one drug has ever been developed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration specifically to treat the disease.
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity!
