As many of you know, I have been battling lupus since my early twenties. It is a disease that has taken a toll on my body and my life in countless ways. But I am not alone in this fight. Thousands of people across the country are joining me in the Walk to End Lupus Now® this year, and I hope that you will consider supporting me in this cause.
To make matters even more personal, my beloved dog named Dill-On also died of lupus. We named our team after him to honor his memory and to raise awareness about this mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease.
Your contribution, whether big or small, can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by lupus. With your help, we can support the Lupus Foundation of America's efforts to improve the quality of life for people living with this debilitating condition. Just $25 or $55 can go a long way, and if your employer offers a Matching Gift Program, you may be able to double your impact with minimal effort.
Please join me in this fight by either lacing up your sneakers and walking with me or donating to my fundraising page. Your generosity will help us get one step closer to solving the mystery of lupus and improving the lives of those living with this disease. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your consideration and support.
Did you know?
Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable, and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
Lupus is hard to diagnose, but the Lupus Foundation of America is working to make life easier and more comfortable for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States. Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity!
