Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
I am suffering from lupus fundraising fatigue. I have done it for many years now, and I was really hoping that by this time my daughter, Theresa, would be in remission or cured from this disease. But sadly, she still suffers from abdominal lupus, and I continue to fund raise. The biggest challenges for her this year were Covid and a rare staph infection in her throat. Both took their toll, and she was very sick during the winter months. She missed many lupus treatments because she was so ill, and her lupus flares continuously as we now go into the fall. Sometimes she can’t hold in solid food for two weeks at a time. So I ask you again, kind and generous family, friends, and colleagues, to please support the Lupus Foundation of America. This year’s walk will be held in Lincoln Park on September 23. It’s a short walk because people with lupus aren’t physically strong, but Theresa is very mentally and emotionally tough! And she gains strength from your support. Thank you for donating to this very important cause. Research is our only hope. It means a lot to me and my family.
Sincerely,
Carol Brickley
