Lupus is a cruel and mysterious disease. Every lupus patient is different and finding the right medications to help is often a challenge. I have lived with lupus for over 30 years. For the past two years, I have suffered with scleritis in my eyes, caused by the lupus. Unfortunately, not many medications are approved for lupus, so finding a medication to help has been challenging; not to mention the side effects of the medications.
However, I never give up. I celebrate my good days and rest and take it easy on what I call my "slow" days. I find that painting is my sanctuary and I've been so fortunate to begin my artistic career at age 60! From time to time, I will be selling paintings and donating a portion of the funds raised to our walk.
This walk is important to me. I worked very hard so that this walk would be available in Tampa to support lupus patients. That was 11 years ago! Today, the desperate need for more approved medications still exists, so my commitment to this walk and the efforts it supports are stronger than ever.
Please join me, as we virtually Walk to End Lupus in 2021!
Thank you for donations and for your love and support.
