The Virtual Walk to End Lupus is on My 65th Birthday
Like many things, our 10th Anniversary Walk to End Lupus is virtual and scheduled for 10/10/20 and that is my 65th birthday!
I have lived with lupus for over 30 years. If you follow me on Facebook, you know that for the past year I have struggled with scleritis in my eyes caused by the lupus. It has been a journey of trying many medications, fighting with the insurance company to get medications approved and many, many hours receiving infusions. Unfortunately, so far nothing has worked, but I continue to fight. Lupus is a cruel disease for both patients and families. My case is not unusual. I am very thankful to be here to celebrate my 65th birthday!
I want to thank those of you who donated in the spring, when the walk was originally scheduled. Your donations touched my heart. I also ask anyone else who would like to celebrate my birthday to walk virtually with me on 10/10, or to donate. We desperately need funding for research for new and less toxic medications.
A HUGE thank you to all of my family and friends who have supported me on this journey. I am not sure I would have made it to this birthday celebrations without you.
Big hugs, Cindy
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity!
