I don't always share a lot about my Lupus diagnosis outside of close family and friends. I think the stigma of being seen as a person with a chronic illness is daunting, both personally and professionally.
But I have become more comfortable with sharing this information in the past couple of years. I am lucky to have an amazingly supportive circle and wonderful colleagues. I am also incredibly fortunate that my Lupus is stable and I don't live with the same severe health impacts as some experience.
I want to walk to shed light on this somewhat unknown and misunderstood disease. Did you know that ninety percent (90%) of people living with lupus are women?! We need more funding for Lupus research.
Please walk with me and/or help me raise funds to fight Lupus!
