Welcome Team Rab! Whether you're joining my fundraising efforts for the first time or have been walking by my side for the last decade, I'm so happy you've found your way to my page.
2019 marks 10 years since my life forever changed because of lupus. And though it has been important for me to share with you the bad days, the chronic pain, and the tears to educate and spread awareness, I've decided right now to simply highlight the incredible strides we've made in this last decade rather than fixate on the negatives. I don't have the exact figures, but together Team Rab has raised somewhere over $50,000 to fund vital lupus research and education! Following my diagnosis in 2009, we raised over $10,000 in 2 days; in connection with last year's walk, we raised over $7,000 and I was blessed to lead one of our largest Team Rab walk-day troops yet.
While I won't be able to join the walk this year as I'll be in Ann Arbor for my brother's college graduation (go blue!), my heart will be there in spirit walking alongside thousands of my fellow lupies and our supporters. Thank you again for your incredible generosity and kindness over these last 10 years. As cliché as it might sound, and as strong as I may seem on my good days, I couldn't do it without you - my support system.
with so much love and appreciation, Rachel
