Dear Friends and Family,

Fifteen years ago, I had just lost my little brother Michael Jon Barlin to Lupus. It is a terrible disease that affects 1.5 million Americans. I decided to do something in his honor and started the New York City Walk to End Lupus Now. We will walk again as Team Michael in his memory. This is our 15th year walking in Michael's honor, and I want to make this year's walk is the biggest and most successful yet!

Walk to End Lupus Now™ is an important event, because it raises critical funds to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support and advocacy. Lupus is an unpredictable and misunderstood disease in which the immune system is out of balance, causing damage to any organ system in the body.
