I’m Walking to End Lupus for My Sister, Join Me?

Imagine a day when doctors can say, "There is a cure for lupus." Until that day though, there is work to be done. That's why I'm taking action in the fight against lupus. Join me as I participate in _Lupus Foundation of America's Walk to End Lupus Now(tm)_ in [city] to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States.

My sister, Annette Grove, was the youngest of my four siblings. She was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 24 after years of going to doctors with her symptoms. At the age of 23 she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis of which she suffered for a couple years. She had dreams and aspirations of becoming a wife, mom and a dentist. She never saw those dream come to fruition. She died on July 3, 2009 at the age of 38 years old. My brother, Dan, had to make the grueling decision, while she was in intensive care at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, to stop reviving her. No sibling should ever have to make that decision.

After her death I needed to find an outlet for my grief and decided I wanted to help others that were destined for the same fate of being diagnosed with lupus. The Lupus Foundation of America is an organization that helps spread the word to the public about the symptoms of lupus, resources to help in the diagnosis, resources for families to help them understand lupus and how to help their loved one.

Please help me in my endeavor to fund the education to the public so that other patients and their families don't suffer the same fate as we have.
