Join Team Melissa in the Walk to End Lupus Now 2024!
I am excited to share that "Team Melissa" is back for our 8th year participating in the Walk to End Lupus Now! Over the last seven years, with the incredible support from friends, family, and generous donors, Team Melissa has raised an amazing $49,600 to support lupus research and patient services. Let’s keep this going and continue building on what we've achieved so far!
This year, we'll be joining forces with the "NJ Support Group" team once again. The event will take place on October 6th at Nomehegan Park. As a person living with lupus and a co-leader of the New Jersey Lupus Support Group, this cause is very close to my heart.
About Lupus: Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks healthy tissues, causing inflammation and damage to various parts of the body. It can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, and brain. Lupus is often called "the great imitator" because its symptoms, like fatigue, joint pain, and skin rashes, can resemble those of many other conditions. This makes it challenging to diagnose. Each person's experience with lupus is unique, and symptoms can range from mild to life-threatening.
Why Your Support Matters: Funds raised through the Walk to End Lupus Now help to:
- Support vital research to find better treatments and, one day, a cure for lupus.
- Provide education and support services to those living with lupus.
- Raise awareness about this often misunderstood disease.
How You Can Help: We would be thrilled to have you join "Team Melissa" and walk with us on October 6th. If you can't make it to the event, any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your continuous support and generosity. Together, we can make strides toward ending lupus!
With love and gratitude,
Melissa Sohayda

Please note: The "Recognition Name" is for donors to list their own name for acknowledgement on the fundraising wall. Sorry for any confusion :)
