I am joining thousands of people across the country for the Walk to End Lupus Now®. I hope that you will join me either by lacing up your sneakers or by donating to my fundraising page.
Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease that struck my mother at the age of 27 without warning as a teacher in SC. Despite the diagnosis she was able to receive doctorate, became a principal, and most importantly a mother to my brother & me.
Lupus is a severe and highly unpredictable disease that can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys. Nearly, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
You can make a difference by donating to help me reach my personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus!
My mom lost her battle with Lupus right before I graduated from college. To honor her I’m working with the Lupus Foundation of America to make life easier and more comfortable for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States. Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus and save lives. Thank you for your generosity!
