My Journey
I have been living with Lupus SLE since 2017.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks its own tissues and organs. Lupus is unpredictable and it affects everyone differently.
For me Lupus attacks the following:
Joints, Skin, Central Nervous System, and Renal System. Also causes extreme fatigue.
I have been volunteering for Lupus Foundation of American, Southern Califorina Region for 7 years. My work includes, The Walk to End Lupus Now, which is a fundraising event we hold nationally each year. I have attended The Virtual Lupus Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC in 2021 and 2022. In 2022 I obtained a proclamation in my city for Lupus to be recognized in the month of May, which is Lupus awareness month.
I am a proud ambassador for Lupus Foundation of America. Raising awareness and educating those within and outside the community is dear to my heart.
The Mission: “Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support and advocacy." ~ Lupus Foundation of America
