I am in my 33rd year of living with SLE Lupus. It's has been a  journey getting to this point in my life; living with Lupus and overcoming all that has come with me fighting this disease daily. I am extremely fortunate to have unflagging support from my family, and friends; for which has kept me mentally and physically strong everyday!. I stay prayerful, everyday is a gift, a blessing from God; the wealth of support that I'm given is Truly a blessing!

Being a Lupus warrior/advocate and working with the Lupus Foundation of America for the last 10 years has been nothing short of amazing!  Working alongside other Lupus Warriors/Survivors  hearing their stories and their personal journeys; how far they have come with living with Lupus; keeps me on my quest in elevating lupus awareness.

Participating in the WTELN-  being held at LA LIVE downtown-September 28, 2024 at 4:00pm- is where Team JB's Sweetpeas will be! Walking with thousands of others supporting the Lupus community and their love ones; continuously keeping Lupus visible and increasing awareness! 

We will always walk to honor all loved ones who have lost their fight, but never forgotten; Varner Dickerson, Margie Flowers, L.H.,  Jane Wyler,Kristal, Cynthia H,  Aaliyah Brown, Eusebio "Tino" Mendez, Emma Ventura-Zamora 14 years old recently lost her fight, our prayers are with her family;  all Lupus Warriors/survivors that continue to fight daily.

Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. Lupus is hard to diagnose; It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.

Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable; can damage any organ or tissue, from severe migraines, extreme fatigue, skin, lost of hair, painful swollen joints, feet , hands,  extreme sun or light sensitivity (photosensitivity) the heart and kidneys.

While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of those affected with lupus are women and 10% diagnosed with lupus are men.

The Lupus Foundation of America' "mission is to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support and advocacy" To make life easier and more comfortable for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States. Together, we can help solve the cruel mystery of lupus.
