I will be participating in the Walk to End Lupus Now® along with thousands of others across the country. I have a dear friend, Ariana, who has been battling this autoimmune disease for many years. Our friendship has lasted for over 33 years, and this year, I aim to raise funds to support the organization that assists her in her ongoing fight against lupus. I would appreciate it if you could join me by walking with us, donating to my fundraising page, or supporting our cause.
If you’d like to join our team, Keep Movin’, we’re walking on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Lincoln Park Rowing Lagoon, 1909 N. Cannon Drive, Chicago, IL 60614.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that is still not fully understood. It can affect anyone and doesn't have a known cause or cure. Lupus symptoms vary widely and can be severe, potentially damaging any body part, from the skin and joints to the heart and kidneys. While anyone can be affected by lupus, around 90% of those living with the disease are women, and women of color are at a particularly high risk. Diagnosing lupus can be challenging, but the Lupus Foundation of America is dedicated to improving the lives of the estimated 1.5 million people with lupus in the United States.
You can make a difference by donating to help us reach our fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus! A generous contribution of $25 or $55 can make a definite impact. A donation of $1 or $10 can make a difference too. Please help us in this mission. It’s worth the effort! Every single dollar counts.
Together, we can help solve the challenging mystery of lupus. As my picture shows, even on the toughest days or in less-than-ideal circumstances, we stand united with smiles on our faces, pushing through no matter what. Peace, love, unity, and respect to you, my friends. Thank you for your generosity!
