I’m Walking to End Lupus. Join Me?
Our lives changed forever that September night in 2004 when while coaching my daughter Araceli during a softball game she broke her ankle and had to have surgery to repair it. Shortly after she started having unexplained symptoms such as shortness of breath, joint pains, always being tired and of course the infamous butteryfly shaped rash on the face. It got the point that she did not want to get out of bed at times. She lost a whole semester at CSUMB due to these symptoms. I would get on her for being lazy because at the time I did not really know much about Lupus.
Once it was confirmed that she indeed had Lupus we were referred to Dr. Utz at Stanford Medical Center who took her under his wings to work with her. He along with other doctors like Dr. Cabrera have helped her manage the disease. It has been a battle but she refuses to let Lupus control her life. She is one of the toughest persons I know and has endured more than most go through in a lifetime. Our family has made a commitment to help raise funds to find the cure for this disease. Will you please join me in making a donation to this worthy cause.
We would be honored to have you walk with us in San Francisco on October 21st. If you would like to register and join our team do it under Team Knockout 831. If you raise $100 under your name you will get a free shirt on the day of the walk. Remember any donation made no matter the amount will go toward beating this disease. I want to thank everyone that have made donations in the past and continue to do so every year. Hope is not lost and the battle continues. I thank you for the continued support on my daughters journey.
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity!
