Dear Team JMJ Sponsor or Donor!
In 2011, our journey began. We really did not know where this journey would take us. However, we knew and saw there was beauty in the fight. On the other side of a fight is hope, change, and progress. So, we fought year after year for a cause we are passionate about in hopes to spreading awareness and making a difference. Well, seven years later, Team JMJ is still fighting and we are better people because of this experience. We have transformed ourselves through this process because this moment changed the way we show up in life for others because we are continually blessed by the people who continue to show up and support us.
Therefore, giving up is not an option because who else will be the voice for those who have left us because of Lupus? Who else will make sure our Jervonya’s compassion shines through in our actions? Who else will spread the word about the importance of being mindful of making the most of your life while you are alive? I would hope that Team JMJ will lead by example by raising money to find a cure one day for Lupus; to speak about how Jervonya continues to teach us lessons about living life; and creating a safe space about how taking care of yourself is something you don’t have to do by yourself, but family can get you through.
Our fundraising efforts as allowed us to raise over $30,000 for the Lupus Foundation of American creation these last seven year. How? We’ve opened our home and create a space to serve homemade fried fish dinners; cleaning out our homes to out on garage sales; creating handcrafted gifts and selling to our friends and families; and taking advantage during May-Lupus Awareness month to sell donated baked goods. Guess what, we are not going to stop. See our fly enclosed or attached to check out our fundraising events for 2018.
Team JMJ for the seventh consecutive year, will be walking in the Walk to End Lupus now event in October in San Francisco. For 5 out of 7 year, we have been a top team and we are proud we were the #1 team in 2017. What is even more amazing is that we share the top team spots with some amazing team who are just as compassionate and have the same fight in them as we do. Our goal is to raise $15,000 this year. Will you help us get there?
