Hello friends,
I have recently taken a position with the LFA. The mission of the organization was of interest to me because I have a family member with this often debilitating disease and know several members of the community with it too. For these reasons that I am directing my professional experience and personal energy to help find a cure!
With that goal in mind, I have signed up for the Virtual 6 Challenge Fundraiser. The event runs from September 19 - 24. Throughout the week, participants can engage in whatever sport they like: bike, run, walk, kayak, etc. with the goal of doing 1 mile a day or 6 miles in total.
Why 6? Because it takes an average of 6 years for someone to receive a correct diagnosis of lupus from when they first notice symptoms. The goal of these events is to create awareness about the disease to change that and to raise critical funds for research to help fund a cure.
For my V6 Challenge, I will be practicing an hour or more of yoga each day, surprise! Please consider supporting my fundraising efforts by making a good will donation or by signing up for the Challenge yourself!
Your donation will help me reach my personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus!
Thank you for your generosity!
