Next February, I have chosen to race as a lupus warrior during the Rock N Roll half marathon in Las Vegas, NV. My struggle with lupus is not usually one that I share very openly. This one is for me. This one is for all the time spent gathering puzzle piece symptoms together for different doctors, all the anxiety built up waiting for lab results to figure out what my body is deciding to do to itself, all the self-talk “I’m not crazy,” “I’m ok,” “I can do this.” on my bad days. I would like to think that when you look at me, you don’t think of lupus. But there is strength, light, and love that lupus deserves... that I deserve despite a lupus diagnosis and so I am bringing this to the surface for me.
I want to represent the better days with lupus. I want to raise money to figure out lupus and help others who feel lost or crazy trying to figure out how to live with this. I want to raise awareness to those trying to figure out how to love and care for people with lupus. I know I am in a perfect position to do this, so this is an opportunity I am willing to take.
I am running Rock N Roll half marathon next February as A LUPUS WARRIOR! This one is for me, but this one is for every lupus warrior out there. Your support for all of us would mean everything to me. It will be my first time running in Las Vegas and I believe in beginner’s luck so I am gambling on bringing in at least $777 for the Lupus Foundation of America. Please help me do this by spreading the word and all of my light!
11/9/21 UPDATE: I am $6 away from reaching my goal of raising $2121 for the @LupusFoundationofAmerica
I cannot put into words how blown away I am by all of your generous
and uplifting support for me and this cause!!!! I had hoped to meet a
goal of $777 in a few months and instead almost tripled that in a little
over 24 hours since putting up my fundraiser...
I couldn't be brave without all of you and I don't think I could ever
properly thank or explain what that means to me. PLEASE help me keep
racing to end lupus!!
Join me and support the mission of the Lupus Foundation of America! My goal is to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States. Your donation will help me reach my personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus!
