I Am Racing to End Lupus
My aunt passed away 3 years ago at age 41 due to complications from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE or lupus for short). She was not aware that she had the disease, and rapidly progressed from healthy to hospitalized to deceased within a span of 9 days. Since then my family has missed her dearly. Our prayers constantly go out to those who struggle daily with this disease.
My goal is to train for and complete an IRONMAN triathlon, and do so to help raise funds and awareness for lupus by partnering with the Lupus Foundation of America. I want to complete this race to bring hope to those living with this debilitating disease (1.5 million people in America) and to bring some good from my aunts tragic death. Donations to this cause will help advance current Lupus research, provide resources for individuals affected by lupus, and develop more accurate tests and treatments for the disease. RACE DAY IS NOVEMBER 17th 2024 IN TEMPE. ARIZONA!! Follow my training and journey on Instagram @blake.bartnick
By making a donation you will help me reach my personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus! Any amount is appreciated, thank you for checking out my fundraising page.
