My fiancé Beccah was diagnosed with Lupus SLE in the third year of our relationship and it has completely changed my life. Professional golf, as many know, is a very strenuous, but fulfilling lifestyle with constant ups and downs. In my career as a professional golfer, I spend around 25-30 weeks per year travelling. In the other weeks, I am either prepping for a tournament or doing something solely focused on golf. Needless to say, my focus is on achieving my goals, which is to win on the PGA Tour. However, this mindset shifted the day that Beccah was diagnosed with Lupus after her 8-year battle with unknown symptoms and numerous doctor visits. As a caregiver, my sole purpose is to make sure that Beccah has everything she needs, and that her days are as “normalized” as possible. Beccah and I have been wanting to utilize my platform as a professional golfer to raise awareness for Lupus and to fund the Lupus Foundation of America. I believe that we can achieve our goal of raising $30,000 through fundraisers that will be performed weekly throughout the 2021 season.
Help Me Make My Mark on Lupus:
For the 2021 season on the Korn Ferry Tour and various other professional tours, I pledge to donate $15 per birdie, $50 per eagle, and $500 per Hole-In-One that I make in competition. Depending on where I am playing and the event that I am in, I will have fellow professionals and personal sponsors of mine to accompany me in fundraising. Out of the 23 events scheduled for the 2021 season on the Korn Ferry Tour, I plan on playing as many as I can.
Join me and support the mission of the Lupus Foundation of America!
I encourage my supporters and anyone else who follows along on my journey to match my numbers or come up with your own donation amount. My encouragement comes from an extremely heavy heart to help to maximize the funding of expediting the diagnosis of Lupus. Any amount helps in the research for Lupus and finding its cure.
