Dr. Richard Furie, Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at Northwell Health, will lead this discussion.

Dr. Furie is the 2021 recipient of the prestigious Evelyn V. Hess Award for distinguished contributions to the field of lupus. He is an internationally recognized expert and leader in lupus and lupus nephritis research whose activities during his distinguished career have focused on patient care, physician education, and clinical research in anti-rheumatic drug development. 

Dr. Furie directs the Hospital’s SLE and Autoimmune Disease Treatment Center, which has become internationally recognized for its role in the development of new therapies for SLE.
