Maureen McMahon, M.D.

"Living with Lupus"

Dr. Maureen McMahon is rheumatologist at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, and Site Director of the UCLA Lupus Clinical Trials Network.   Her research and clinical work have focused on identifying new treatments for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).  She has also focused on ways to identify Lupus patients at risk for accelerated atherosclerosis and damage accrual, and discovery of molecular targets for therapeutic interventions.  She has authored over 50 manuscripts related to lupus and other autoimmune diseases, and has participated in multiple NIH- and industry-sponsored clinical trials and research studies.
